Rehearsals

Musicians who have a cameo in a Playlist Show will have the opportunity to rehearse with the cast. At the studios you’ll learn your part in the show as well as receive expert coaching from our team.

Carnival built a world-class rehearsal studio in Miami, Florida to host many of our entertainers as they prepare for their shipboard contracts. Depending on the ship you are assigned to, our Rockband positions, Electric String Trio, and Latin Quartet may come to Carnival Studios for a rehearsal period of up to 6 weeks prior to joining your ship.

Sound Proof Space

Within the 44,500 sq ft rehearsal space are 9 state of the art soundproof rehearsal studios designed specifically for our musicians. Equipped with top of the line gear, these spaces are a great place to hone in and get ready for your contract!

Gear

Carnival Studios offer the same graphic mixing experience as our ships. There, you will have the opportunity to learn, rehearse, and perform on the same gear you’ll use on our stages featuring a Behringer X32 mixing console, Roland RD=2000 keyboard, Roland VR-09 keyboard, and Roland TD-50 drum kit. Specialty acts including our Latin Quartet and String Trio’s involved in our production shows also receive the exact gear they’ll use during their show performances.

Playlist Cameos

Musicians rehearsing for a cameo in a Playlist Show will have the opportunity to rehearse, and sometimes perform with the cast! At the studios you’ll learn your part in the show as well as receive expert coaching from our team.

Preview Studio

We built a special preview studio specifically for bands to perform for their peers. With full lighting and sound set up, you’ll get to put on a show for your fellow performers, and get the experience of performing at Carnival before joining your ship!

Trainings

Whether at Carnival Studios or shipboard, we have created trainings to support the growth of our team members. From branding and live performance methodology, to leadership, technical skills, and becoming a shipboard expert, our team members find a platform to integrate, cross train, and become better visions of themselves.

Master Classes

We take Pride in offering many world class trainings and events throughout the year. At Carnival Studios we’ve hosted master Classes with speakers such as bassist Victor Wooton, Billboard promoter Bram Bessoff, CNN Hero Chad Bernstein, and Youtube sensation Kristine Mirrell.

Access to Miami

While you’re at the studios you have the greater Miami area at your fingertips. Jump in a cab to get some delicious food, spend some time on the beach, or of course…..see GREAT LIVE MUSIC.

As part of our entertainment team onboard you get to be a highlight of our guests’ cruise experience. Our musicians participate in some of our unique guest engagement activities such as Q&A and Embarkation Fun Guide. This is your opportunity to promote your show, expand your fan base, and get to know your audience.

Merchandise

Sell your approved CD and other merchandise to your fans on every cruise.

Holiday Events

Be the life of the party as the ship celebrates special holidays and events.

We are proud to partner with some of the best in the industry in supporting our team members and the community. With these partnerships we’ve been able to attend NAMM with our shipmates in Los Angeles, participate in the Rose Parade, host a Rolland Mini Expo at Carnival Studios and more! Musicians that work with Carnival Cruise Line also receive discounts on top-of-the-line music gear from multiple name brand companies.

FUN OR CAREER?

choose both.

faq

You will not change positions during your contract.

Most contracts do not require Team Member to change ships mid-contract. Sometimes things happen, but Carnival prides ourselves on keeping our talent assigned to a specific ship for the duration of a contract.

You will report to the Music Manager.

If you are a Music Manager, rockband singer (on select ships), soloist, or piano bar entertainer you will have your own cabin. All other musicians will be accommodated in a double-occupancy cabin which includes bunk beds, closet, desk, TV and bathroom (shower, sink, cabinet, toilet). The cabins also have plugs for charging electronics and reading lights over the beds. The cabin is cleaned once a week by a member of the housekeeping team.

Musicians are required to bring all uniform/performance attire to each contract and/or rehearsal period.

Extra activities aside from your standard role will include Port Manning, Just Ask, Groove for St. Jude, and various safety trainings and drills.
