Carnival Entertainment staff benefit from dedicated guidance and career development. Qualified team members may advance to leadership positions, including Entertainment Director, Cruise Director, Entertainment Technical Manager, Youth Director, Playlist Cast Manager, and Music Manager. Leaders in these roles are excellent communicators, problem solvers, and motivational mentors who guide and develop their teams, manage exceptional entertainment programs on board, ensure safety and security compliance, manage budgets, and create unforgettable vacation experiences for all our guests.

Entertainment Director

We oversee and manage the onboard entertainment department, serving as liaisons between senior management and team members. We also manage budgets and revenue for onboard entertainment activities and ensure the safety and security compliance of entertainment staff. The well-being and morale of our teams and the quality of Carnival's brand on every ship depends on us.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years in hospitality management (entertainment and ship experience preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
  • Confidence, diplomacy, and speed in handling every situation
  • Willingness to work long hours
  • Excellent communication skills and acute attention to detail required

Cruise Director

We are the ringleaders of the high seas. As lead hosts of the cruise, we enjoy a kind of celebrity on Carnival ships. Our infectious personalities win the love of everyone on board, and fire up any party. Our influence helps us promote all of the unique experiences aboard our ships, and we proudly serve as the face and voice of Carnival's mission.

What we're looking for:

  • Charming, engaging personalities and natural rapport with all demographics
  • Skilled public speaker with radio or TV-style voice and microphone experience required
  • Ability to train and mentor staff, since we supervise the Fun Squad on board.
  • Experience managing budgets and revenue
  • Ship experience and 3+ years in the entertainment industry required
  • 3+ years of management experience preferred
  • Unique style, niche look, or winning persona

Entertainment Technical Manager

We manage and guide the entertainment technical team on board, and make quick judgment calls with grace under pressure. As motivational leaders, we promote constructive, consistent communication and know instinctively when to delegate and when to take charge. Nothing makes us happier than to see our tech team shine.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years in a management position required; entertainment setting preferred
  • Friendly, professional self-starters who are eager to learn
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs, work at heights up to 35 ft (10.5m), work up to 70 hours per week, and work 6-8 month contracts with up to 2 months break between contracts
  • Experience in multiple specialties (audio, lighting, broadcast, or stage) preferred
  • Attention to detail in team scheduling, operations, and creating reports
  • Compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Collaboration with other departments to ensure highest production values

Youth Director

We are responsible for managing and motivating the youth and teen staff in order to provide a FUN and memorable vacation to our youngest guests. Our ability to jump between paperwork and paper maché is flawless, and when we are not rounding up the Cat in the Hat and his friends or playing at the Build-A-Bear Workshop, you can find us helping the Youth Staff stay current on the latest safety protocols. In the office or on the floor, we bring the excitement to our mini-cruisers!

What we're looking for:

  • 5 plus years exp working with children in large groups. Preferable in a camp or activity based setting
  • 2 plus years managerial exp in youth/camp programs. Leadership skills. Leading a team of minimum of 12
  • Ability to train and mentor staff
  • Team player
  • Fun, energetic candidates who adapt easily to change (same as Youth Staff)
  • Knowledge/experience of managing of budgets and inventories
  • Great leadership skills
  • Quick thinking, flexible, adaptable, patient, problem solving skills
  • Experience Office Suite ex word, excel, email, etc.
  • Proficiency in English
  • 21+ years of age required
  • CPR/First Aid Preferred

Music Manager

We are in charge of the Music Department on board. We develop and coach musicians and run rehearsals at Carnival Studios. We collaborate with the Entertainment Director to create an outstanding music program and work with other departments to provide music for onboard events. When we aren't directly supervising musicians behind the scenes, you can find us performing on stage!

What we're looking for:

  • Excellent musician and outstanding performer with experience leading musical groups
  • 1+ contract as a musician on board a cruise ship required
  • Knowledge of shipboard operations and inner workings of our Entertainment Department
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of commercial music from the 1950s to the present
  • Flexibility and calm under pressure
  • Ability to take and give instruction and deliver constructive criticism in a positive way
