Youth Programs Supervisor
The Youth Programs Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting/reporting to the Youth Director in the overall operation and execution of Camp Ocean and Teen Programs (Circle "C" and Club O2). This position assists in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children and teenagers aged 2-17, ensuring they have an unforgettable vacation experience. The Youth Programs Supervisor will supervise youth staff, help plan and lead age-appropriate activities, ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety and active supervision of all children and teens participating in activities.
Displays friendly, caring, and positive attitude with children, parents, staff, and management.
Ensure implementation of Policies and Procedures set forth in the Youth Programs Operations.
Review and implement youth activity schedules as per programming mandates based on the Youth & Family RFF Programming Standards & Entertainment RFF’s.
Review staff schedules that ensure fair distribution of hours, sufficient coverage for all Youth Facilities, and compliance with MLC regulations.
Assists in training for all new and returning Youth Staff within the designated time (upon joining the vessel, 3-month training, trainings designated by Shoreside or Ship’s command, etc.).
Effectively communicate all the information to the team required for them to effectively perform their job.
Effectively communicate all the required information to the Shipboard and Shoreside Managers.
Build positive relationships with other departments on board and collaborate to drive guest experience.
Ensure all youth facilities and assigned areas remain in good condition by promptly submitting work orders for any necessary repairs or maintenance through the designated documentation systems and organized and cleaned at the end of each shift.
Responsible for ensuring the compliance of all Public Health, Environmental & HESS procedures pertaining to Youth Programs other relevant inspections. All logs and checklists are per guidelines.
Inform relevant stakeholders of all incidents and ensure the Notification Reports/CCTV footage reviewed if needed. Communicate with the adult /guardian regarding their child/teen's behaviors and observations.
Monitor the Youth Programs Department budget & revenue, keep within the guidelines of par levels, ordering process, usage of camp & teen supplies; ensure inventories are current. Monitor revenue dashboards / targets for Night Owls and Build-A-Bear Workshop At Sea.
Review CPS (Crew Personnel System) for Youth Staff as needed based on trainings, certificate etc. Ensure all the documents needed are up to date and lasting for the entire duration of the contract (such as Accurate Background Check, Fingerprints, CPR, First Aid, and other applicable and required certifications).
Monitor Qualtrics and NPS to drive higher guest satisfaction scores for youth initiatives.
Update and maintain required documents and voyage information for each cruise; food order guidelines; participation reports; administration; emails, binders, duties completed from the Roles & Responsibilities Checklist.
Participate in and/or lead Youth Department Team Building activities.
Conduct staff meetings, coach and develop talent.
Conduct weekly meetings with the Youth Programs Director & Teen Leaders to review updates, address challenges, and discuss potential improvements.
Ensure all SAIL boards completed daily/weekly & input numbers in SAIL Portal.
Demonstrate commitment to Carnival Values by providing excellent hospitality to all guests.
Must be willing and able to perform CPR and First Aid as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3 years of experience working with children, preferably in a camp or other activity-based setting.
Experience managing a youth/camp program and leading team of people
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Must be willing to work with children from ages 2 to 11 years old and children with special needs as well as children under the age of 2 years.
Must be able to speak proficient English (speak, read and write fluently.)
Must be outgoing and able to lead large groups of children.
Must have hospitality skills & be focused on guest services.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Must be willing to perform CPR and First Aid as needed.

The Youth Staff/Camp Counselor plays a vital role in ensuring that our youngest guests, those up to the age of 12, have an exceptional and secure vacation experience. Their primary responsibility is to create and deliver a diverse range of engaging and age-appropriate activities that are not only fun-filled but also prioritize the safety and well-being of each child. By fostering a positive and energetic environment, the Youth Staff is instrumental in crafting truly memorable vacations for our young guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety and active supervision of all children participating in activities.
Provides friendly, caring, and positive interaction with teens and their parents, addresses parent inquiries and concerns.
Follow the policies and procedures/mandates in the Youth Programs Operations - Policies & Procedures/ Youth & Family RFF Programming Standards.
Follow all Public Health, Environmental and HESS procedures (such as training, drills, safety briefings, port manning, logs, etc.).
Be well informed and actively participate in assigned activities including, but not limited to, any activities outlined in Staff and Youth Activity Schedules (such as Kid’s Meals, Night Owls, Fun Guide, Sail Away, Embark, Debark, meetings, performances, character appearances, holiday events, family activities, partnerships: Build-A-Bear Workshop, Dr. Seuss, Zumbini, etc.); there may be times that Camp Staff assists in the Teen Clubs and/or cover a Teen Leader role if necessary.
Work during the specific times listed on your schedule, arriving with enough time to prepare for the shift. Comply with schedule rotation, while following all Fun Time & MLC procedures.
Maintain children’s hygiene by consistently tending to their needs (diapering, washing hands, wiping noses, etc.).
Ensure all youth facilities and assigned areas remain in good condition and kept organized and cleaned at the end of each shift.
Inform Youth Programs Director of all incidents and fill out Notification Reports, if needed. Communicate with adult / guardians regarding their child's behavior and observations.
Manage Camp supply use and condition, maintain accurate inventory, and report any immediate or order requests to the Youth Programs Supervisor/ Youth Programs Director.
Participate in all required training sessions and meetings.
Successfully complete the 3-month training program or return training (2-week) led by the Youth Programs Supervisor/ Youth Programs Director.
Ensure the Animators/Characters have chaperones, and their safety is a priority.
In the event of an Animator's absence (sick leave or off-ship), the Youth Team will provide coverage.
Ensure SAIL actions implemented daily.
Abide by the rules and regulations set forth by Carnival Handbook and/or the ship’s command.
Demonstrate commitment to Carnival Values by providing excellent hospitality to all guests.
Follow the uniform policy, maintain the Carnival Look, and always practice good hygiene.
Must be willing and able to perform CPR and First Aid as needed.

The Youth Staff/Teen Leader is to create a positive and enriching vacation experience for teenagers aged 12-17 years old, by delivering a program of safe, engaging, and age-appropriate activities. Reporting directly to the Youth Programs Director and Youth Programs Supervisor, their core objective is to ensure that these young adults have fun and create lasting, positive memories during their time with us. By understanding the unique interests and developmental stage of this age group, the Youth Staff strives to provide memorable and enjoyable vacations that cater specifically to teenagers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the safety and active supervision of all teens participating in activities.
Provides friendly, caring, and positive interaction with teens and their parents, addresses parent inquiries and concerns.
Act in the leadership role within the program; individual must organize, prepare, run, and lead all activities for the teen guests, whether within the Circle “C” / Club O2 lounge or at various lounges around the ship.
Follow the policies and procedures/mandates in the Youth Programs Operations - Policies & Procedures/ Youth & Family RFF Programming Standards.
Follow all Public Health, Environmental and HESS procedures (such as training, drills, safety briefings, port manning, logs, etc.).
Be well informed of all activities outlined in the Youth Activity Schedules, including partnerships (Build-A-Bear Workshop, Dr. Seuss, Zumbini) and family activities; there may be times that Teen Leaders assist in Camp.
Interact with teens/guests as fits the occasion; this includes (hosting parties, trivia, games, karaoke, sports, and other teen related activities).
